HydropowerAbstrak
This study aims to determine ; (1) To determine the amount of potential renewable energy sources of hydroelectric power plants to meet the electrical energy in East Kalimantan at this time , (2) To determine the amount of potential renewable energy sources of hydroelectric power plants that has been used for electrical energy needs in East Kalimantan at the moment , (3) to determine the planning of electrical energy for the purposes of providing electrical energy in the province of East Kalimantan in order to develop the local capacity to implement regional autonomy in the area of ??electrical energy. In this research, the analysis of demand planning and supply of energy in the province of East Kalimantan using models LEAP (Long -range Energy Alternative Planning system) version 2012. Analyze the demand and supply of energy carried over into the next thirteen years with 2012 as the base year. Energy demand projections made ??by linear regression analysis interpoles historical data as well as activity and energy intensity. The results of this study indicate that the province of East Kalimantan has potential sources of hydropower plants amounted to 6976.14 MW and only 1,509 MW has been exploited until now. 2025 the population is projected to increase by 6,167,359 souls to the needs of 17,546,970 MWh of electrical energy, while the power generation capacity of 20,643,495 MWh. If viewed from the target composition of the energy mix (energy mix) Blueprint in the national energy management, the hydropower capacity in 2025 reached 23,961,414 MWh, or 55.56 % of the total generating capacity of 43,129,583 MWh.
